Christopher Skripek
Christopher Skripek is a painter, illustrator and writer. A graphic designer in the 1980s and early 90s, he moved to illustration work, and then to painting in the early 2000s, selling black and white paintings of cities through art galleries in the Midlands and London, with a sell-out one-man show in 2008.
His monochromatic paintings are inspired by the black and white films of the past, such as Film Noir, with its dramatic use of light and shade, and even the films of Laurel and Hardy, with their bright Californian sunshine and sharp shadows.
