'I am a landscape painter who was Born in Beverley, Yorkshire and grew up in Africa. Currently based in Robin Hood Country, I paint rapidly ‘en plein air’, using knife, brush or hands (anything to catch the fleeting effects of light). I use these sketches/ studies to inform larger pieces. I am largely self taught but receive support from my father who has been a successful wildlife artist in Zambia and received formal training in the UK. By definition, I would be considered an impressionist and seek inspiration from the likes of Sisley, Pissarro and Monet. However, I have deep appreciation for the sense of ‘stillness’, evoked by greats such as Levitan & Rothko and tend to try and find balance between the two interests.'
